Raquel's Wings for Life

Is a Non-profit Organization set up to send cancer patients reach the medical treatment they need. Cancer patients will fly at no cost to get their treatment. Donations to the Non-profit Organization can be made at North Texas Bank in the Raquel's Wings for Life account.           In December of 2009 we had a Christmas Lights Flight Raffle to raise money for Raquel's Wings for Life.  The winner got a 30 minute   flight around Wise County in a Cessna 172 to see all the beautiful lights.  The winner is able to take one other person with him/her to share this memorable moment with.  With this event we were able to raise money to go pick up a 10 year old girl that was diagnosed with brain cancer in Houston at M.D. Anderson Hospital.  We are bringing her home so she can spend the New Year with her family and loved ones.  We appreciate everyone who has helped us with this event.

Flights

Even with these crazy weather conditions we are still flying around helping people.  On Monday December 4, 2010 Fabio took a little girl, Emily, that has a brain tumor and her mother to MD Ander son in Houston.  Fabio, along with many other helpful friends, have been going back and forth every week to let different family members be with the child. This family has been a blessing to help; no one in the family has previously been in a personal plane so it was a joy to see their faces the first time we took off.  

With this situation and a couple previous ones Brad Richey, who owns a MD 500 Helicopter, picks Emily up at her house in the front yard(in the helicopter) then takes them to Propwash Airport to meet Fabio and get on his plane.  With the gracious help of Brad Richey it cuts even more time off of driving and gives a little more excitement to the family.

We would like to say a special thanks to everyone who uses their aircraft, donates money, and freely gives their time to help with this amazing organization.

Fabio LaBrada made a financial contribution to Jump Rope for Heart that is done at the Decatur Intermediate School to raise money for the American Heart Association.

American Cancer Society

Fabio LaBrada participated in the kick off for the Relay for Life. He did a fly-by in his baron, that is used in the Raquel's Wings for Life flights.

Battle of the Big Sandy

Fabio LaBrada performed a low-altitude fly-by to greet Decatur and Bridgeport fans.

Wise County 150 Anniversary

Fabio LaBrada participated in a fly-by over the Decatur square in celebration of the anniversary.

A North Pole Christmas

Fabio LaBrada flew a family of three children who were struggling from the Decatur Airport around the area and then to the Bridgeport Airport to see Santa. The Airport was set up to look like the North Pole and the children were showered with gifts.
